Contact Us Directly →
What is included in a material takeoff?
A material takeoff can include material quantities, area measurements, linear measurements, counts, material summaries, marked-up drawings, worksheets, spreadsheets, and CSI-based breakdowns depending on the project.
What is the difference between a material takeoff and a cost estimate?
A material takeoff measures the materials and quantities required for the project. A cost estimate uses those quantities and adds material pricing, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses.
Can DEKR provide a takeoff without pricing?
Yes. DEKR provides quantity-only takeoffs so contractors can apply their own supplier prices, labor rates, overhead, and markup.
Can material takeoffs be prepared from conceptual drawings?
Yes. DEKR states that preliminary takeoffs can be prepared from conceptual and design-development documents, although the detail depends on the information available.
What building code currently applies in Denver?
Denver's 2025 Building and Fire Code became effective December 31, 2025. It incorporates the 2024 International Codes, except the Energy Code, which incorporates the 2021 IECC.
